چکیده
Background: Non-absorbable materials (nylon) are always used in cinch sutures to maintain nasal width and improve harmonious facial symmetry orthognathic surgery. However, a few drawbacks of nylon have been clinically reported following surgery, such as irritation exposure the sutures. An absorbable material (PDS) has proposed sutures, not only avoid complications but also stabilize for long-term follow-up. Methods: Fifty-seven patients with Angle’s malocclusion classification III receiving surgery were enrolled this study. A non-absorbable an utilized Pre-operative (T1) post-operative six-month (T2) craniofacial 3D images collected all measure alar curvature (Ac) base (Al) width. significance level p < 0.05 was applied statistical analysis. Results: With approval IRB, suturing performed 29 PDS 28 patients. Ac Al distances showed no significant difference between these two groups. There differences suture peri-operative change width, including (nylon: 1.999 ± 1.40; PDS: 1.484 0.97; = 0.112) 1.861 1.66; 1.115 0.92; 0.056). Conclusions: For can similarly nylon; additionally, it be absorbed timely manner without materials.

Technique and uses for absorbable barbed sutures.
The author describes barbed sutures as a unique wound closure tool. Their advantages include the closure of wounds without any knots or the need for a third hand. They are also capable of shifting tissues differentially along the suture to redistribute tensile and compressive forces. The author discusses the development of these tools and their application.

PURPOSE To develop and evaluate an antibiotic-eluting suture for ophthalmic surgery. METHODS Wet electrospinning was used to manufacture sutures composed of poly(L-lactide), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and levofloxacin. Size, morphology, and mechanical strength were evaluated via scanning electron microscopy and tensile strength, respectively. In vitro drug release was quantified using high pe...
متن کاملSecondary Vesical Calculi Formation on Non Absorbable Sutures Following Abdominal Hysterectomy: A Case Report
We report an uncommon case of a-48-year-old female presenting with calculi over suture in bladder following prior abdominal hysterectomy. The stone was fragmented and removed via transurethral cystolitholapaxy using pneumatic energy followed by cystoscopic removal of the suture. Bladder stones are rarely found in females (2%) and their occurrence should be evaluated in detail. Foreign bodies in...
متن کاملEvaluation of Sternal Closure with Absorbable Polydioxanone Sutures in Children
INTRODUCTION Sternal dehiscence, sternal wound infection and mediastinitis are troublesome complications following median sternotomy which are major causes of morbidity and mortality of patients. Synthetic polydioxanone absorbable suture seems effective in prevention of these complications in children undergoing open heart surgery. METHODS During 2 years period, 620 patients who underwent med...

Purpose: The proper selection of suture is very important to minimize infection after gastrointestinal anastomosis and closure, which is one of the causes of postoperative complications such as leakage and stricture, etc, in the surgical field. Thus this study focuses on which suture can reduce bacterial infection after surgical operation by comparing in vitro microbial infiltration rates of th...
